I swipe to the left with 3 fingers to turn pages. Also, if you tap on the screen to bring focus to a word, then 2 finger swipe down to read all, VoiceOver will turn pages automatically. Since this is all different from what someone else told you. I will state for the record I'm running iOS 5.1.1 on an iPhone 4.
