ok, I got it all working back to pretty much normal. 
I did not have to use my I-cloud password but I am keeping this for the 
website. 
I forget now where it was stuck and what I did to get it working, but I do 
thank you very much for the reply.

Your iCloud password is your Apple Id password and you definitely will need it 
to use your phone.

You can reset it at http://AppleID.apple.com.

When you say “I can’t get my phone working since the update” can you explain 
further? Does it mean Voiceover is working and you are at the point of the 
initial setup screen where it asks you to sign into iCloud? If so then you will 
absolutely have to find a way to reset your Apple Id password otherwise you 
won’t get anywhere.

You say you don’t use iCloud or the app store. Do you not backup your phone to 
iCloud or have you never bought an app even if it was a free one?

I also have forgotten my password because I never use the cloud or apps store 
and don’t want to. 

I cannot get my phone working since the update and have grown frustrated.
