Check in Settings > General > Accessibility > Voiceover > Typing Feedback.
Here you can set what sort of feedback you want for software and hardware keyboards, I assume your software keyboard typing feedback is set to nothing, set it back to characters and you will hear the character both when you touch it and when you release it. I have found I have had a problem with touch typing in ios 9.1 and I would like to know if this is something that I am doing wrong or a bug. I am typing along and vo no longer says the letters after I have typed them. I will put my finger on a letter raze it and it won't say the letter it will say it when I am having my finger on it but not after I enter it. it also is not reading the letters back if I need to delete a letter. is any one having this problem?
