With the keyboards I have thus far read about, it is not possible to have your 
device charge while you use the keyboard. There is no pass through. The 
advantage for a wired keyboard is that you probably won't have the Bluetooth 
bug that has bitten so many people. You won't have to worry about accidental 
disconnection of Bluetooth. And in certain settings, a wired connection is the 
only valid one, especially for security reasons as in when taking a test. In 
fact, one of the selling points for these wired keyboards is just that. They 
are approved for test taking environments, where as a Bluetooth is not. Or at 
least it may not be.
