Sounds like WIFI assist was enabled. Perhaps the WIFI signal was not
sufficiently strong to carry the movie, which would consume a lot of data, and
WIFI assist kicked in. To be sure that this does not happen again, turn off
WIFI assist under Cellular, under Settings.

Subject: data usage with new phone
Hi all,

I got a new iPhone 6S yesterday. I managed to get most apps and other stuff
onto the new phone.

I was listening to a movie when I started getting messages about using my data.
Within the next few minutes, I had used 100% of my data for the month. I have
no idea how it happened. I was connected to my wireless, though I saw my WIFI
and LTE at the same time. I wasn’t downloading anything as far as I know.

I did finally check cellular data and turn that off.

Does anyone have an idea how this happened. I plan to call AT&T today to see
if they’ll do something, or at least tell me what happened.

Thanks,
Lois
