I designed and manufactured Fopydo Scanning Stand for the Blind and Visually Impaired. I am contacting you because you showed interest in the Fopydo Scanning
Stand and I have just launched a kickstarter campaign for the Book Reading Aid that is compatible with the stand. I am asking for your support to gauge if there is interest in manufacturing of this product. Your support will also be a great help with preparations for a production run since my own resources are limited. If you know others who may be interested in this project - please let them know. I already have the stand, so I pledged $25 plus $3.00 for shipping, which is a very good deal. So, for my initial $15.00 for the stand plus shipping, and the $28.00 which will get me the book reading attachment, I will have a nice scanning setup for a total of $43.00. Show me another way to get this good of a setup for that little money. If you don’t mind the tediousness of Prizmo, which is a fine OCR app, just more steps to get a scan, you could have a really good scanning system for $53.00 over the cost of the iDevice. One day, maybe, KNFB Reader will retain formatting, so for $143, again you would have a great scanning system. I have both KNFB Reader and Prizmo already, which I can use free hand, but I like having the stability of the stand if I am scanning something I’d likely want to keep, especially if there is more than a couple pages. There is a few dollars extra for shipping. For thise who pledge less than $25 - I will ask them if they just want to help out or if they want to add a few bucks to get the book reading aid.
