At the top right is an "Edit" button. Activate it and then explore the screen. Here you can now turn off, for example, the "All Inboxes" mailbox which I believe is on by default and you can turn on mailboxes like "Unread", "All Trash", "All Drafts" etc. If you select to display the "unread" mailbox, then you can double tap on it to display only unread messages in any of the accounts you have set up. Note that you can also reorder in which order your mailboxes and accounts are displayed, e.g. you can put "Unread" at the top or put "VIP" at the top etc. To do this, find the "Reorder" button to the right of each mailbox, double tap and hold on it and then drag your finger up or down on the screen.
