Your friend will have to redeem iTunes gift card you sent. If it was one of 
those ones that comes via email, then your friend will do it from the email or 
off the link from the web. If it was an actual physical card, your friend might 
be able to scan it if they have an iPhone, or they'll get a sighted person to 
read the numbers and type it into the relevant place in iTunes.
