Hello Don, Did you just install Windows 10? If so, you may have to have your iPhone Trust the computer, again.
There are several things that may not be working correctly depending upon how you upgraded to Windows 10. The first thing I recommend, however, is to try to connect using a different USB cable. I know it sounds far-fetched, but give it a try, before you reinstall iTunes. Also, should you decide to reinstall iTunes, as Apple recommends, be certain to remove all of the Apple components from your PC, first. While this is not absolutely necessary, I have found it yields the best results.
