Up to a few months ago, the reminders had also appeared in my Notifications Center. Thus arose my question. I still do get notifications/updates of friends' posts there. I have now turned on email notifications for the reminders, so I'll see how that turns out.

Hello, I receive emails each day when a friend is having a birthday. To find present and up-coming birthdays go into your notifications. You should see birthdays there.
