Please let us know when these various glitches are fixed because I'm also interested to try it.

Hi all,

I agree that the Outlook app is indeed very nice, I actually just tried it for the first time just out of curiocity and whenever the editing feature is fixed, I could easily see this becoming my mail app of choice. I will definitely add my voice to those who have already sent feedback to Microsoft regarding the editing issue and also about making use of the calendar a better experience. I find Microsoft in the last while has been quite good about accessibility, Skype is great and while I haven’t used Word or Excel yet on the iPhone, I understand they are quite useable and of course the OneDrive app is also very accessible. I like the fact I can link my OneDrive and Dropbox account in the Outlook app and I believe it’s easier if one wants to include attachments.

One thing I also have not quite figured out yet is what these 3 buttons in the second row exactly do, there is “Focused”, “other” and “Filter”. OK, the filter seems to be easy enough since it let’s you display just unread messages, flagged messages or just messages which have attachments. However, my business email account in the natibve mail app seems to display messages which I don’t necessarily see in the Outlook inbox or at least I have to change it from “focused” to “Other” to see them and I have not yet understood what the difference is, maybe somebody who knows can explain this?

Regards,

Sieghard

Here is the comments from AppleVis.com on version 1.0 of the app. When I tried it, I chose to go back to the default Mail client on the iPhone, but I have not tried it recently.

      Accessibility Comments:

Mostly accessible. The Mail, File, People, and the Settings are pretty much fully accessible to use. The Calendar tab is not quite there. If you touch the middle part of the screen. You will hear click as if there are elements there. However, you can swipe to the left and right to hear the dates of the calendar. To really make use of it in a quick manner. Well that is another story. Overall, its alright. It isn't going to be replacing my Apple Mail any time soon in the future. Must admit it is nice to have everything in a single app. That is having the Mail, Calendar, and your OneDrive files all in one place. Make that Calendar more accessible and would be better. The other bit of a bummer. You can't simply flick up to delete a single email. You will have to go in to the email and then delete it. Or, select it and use the Trash towards the top of the screen.

      VoiceOver Performance:

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

      Button Labeling:

All buttons are clearly labeled.

      Usability:

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

Hi friends,

I have been using the mail app with my IPhone for quite some time now and it is very easy, straight forward and accessible but a colleague mentioned the Outlook client for the IPhone and the fact that it has more functionality.

Does anyone know if the Outlook client is accessible and easy to use?

Many thanks in anticipation,
