Hi,
I can use GMail with IMAP on my iPhone and it works beautifully, but, for some reason, in Outlook 2007 on my Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 home premium it's a bust for me. Last time I fiddled with this, which was maybe a month ago, I had a hell of a time configuring Outlook for GMail with IMAP and it just wouldn't happen. I finally just put the matter aside for a while until somebody could give me the proper settings. If anybody has the right settings for Outlook, IMAP and GMail, drop me a line or two off-list, please. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Tom

I am using imap but am not receiving the messages in Outlook. I obviously
need to recheck my settings.

Are you using IMAP or POP? If you're using IMAP you get this already since
both Outlook and your iPhone will be accessing the same database where the
messages are stored.

If you're using POP you can do this by configuring the email client not to
delete the messages from the server. The client would download the messages
but leave them on the server so you could download them with a client on
another system. When I used POP, I'd have the iPhone download the messages
but leave them on the server. I'd have Outlook download them and delete them
from the server. Therefore, I could check messages I hadn't seen with
Outlook yet on my iPhone, but I'd keep all of my history on my PC with
Outlook. Note this was before I switched to IMAP.
Also, I was using a Nokia cell phone and Thunderbird instead of an iPhone
and Outlook, but the idea is the same.

I would like to be able to get a copy of my Gmail messages both on the
Iphone and Outlook 2007. Is it possible to do this by changing a setting?
