Hello Kathy, It’s easy to put together once you understand how to do it. The most awkward bit is sliding the two stiff wires into the base. But if you look at how they’re fitted into the upright piece, it makes sense. I sit the stand on my lap with the upright piece to my right. I then place the book between the foam pads in the same position as you would place it for reading normally. The iPhone just stays put on the shelf. I use KNFBReader so I just click the Take Picture button and it starts reading. While it reads, I turn the page. When it stops reading, I click the Back button and the focus is back on the Take Picture button. It really couldn’t be easier to use!
