So if your phone is locked and you place your finger on the home
button, it unlocks without you having to press the home button or
anything?

Because I have to press either the home button or the button on the
side to unlock the phone regardless of whether I use the fingerprint
or enter the passcode. The pressing of some button has to come first.

I guess I'm not understanding either. <g>
