You can share playlists with each other though. It’s kind of cool. My kids can share a playlist they created in apple music with me, I add it to my library. Then I can listen to the playlist but I can’t make changes. If my kids change their playlist then it is automatically updated in my apple music as well. At least, that’s how it has worked for us so far. :)
