I have both and from what I understand, ooTunes is always recording things, but with TuneIn you have to physically tell it to start recording. I have never gotten any of the ooTunes recordings and named them, so can't really speak to that. I tend to spend most of my time listening to ooTunes but I have used TuneIN during the recent NFL season and to listen to a few radio stations. In the case of one station, I used ooTunes to listen to it all the time until the station no longer worked. I found it on TuneIn and deleted it from ooTunes. The station may have changed it's streaming address or credentials, not sure why it stopped working on ooTunes, but oh well. I do like ooTunes though since it can connect to nearly any sation regardless of the station's network affiliation, like CBS, ABC, and so forth. With TuneIn, there are some radio networks that are banned, such as Clear Channel.
