I agree. As I said, I personally think I'm covered under the fare use act, and even though I've seen lawyers from record companies say they don't think the fair use act covers DRM protected materials, I doubt a recording company would go after someone who was just making copies for their own personal use.

Amen to that.
You should not take legal opinions from someone who is not a lawyer and
possibly not even then.

But, I don't think they would bother an individual unless they were discovered
passing them along to someone illegally, which is why I say not to share the
converted books since then you open yourself up for a clear violation and
possible prosecution.

Again, Just My Opinion and it is worth every penny you paid for it, grin.

Note that copying protected information, even for personal use, isn't
necessarily perfectly fine. There are still licenses that you agreed to
when you signed up for a service that provided the material, and not
every legal expert agrees that the fair use law in the US covers digital
material when it comes to making copies of digitally protected material,
even for your own personal use.

Note that I think the fair use laws do cover this, and I have no problem
copying materials for my own personal use. I just want to make the point
that this issue has not clearly been settled in US courts, so when
someone says it's perfectly fine, remember there still some grey area
here, and if it concerns you, you may want to do your own research into
this issue.

Alan,
I don't think I ever wrote you to thank you for sending this updated info on
Codex. It works tremendously well now and very easy compared to the version a
few years back.

At least, for Windows users, which I am.

Anyone who wants to use Voice Dream Reader's better voices for their Kindle
books would be well advised to get this software. It is free, though he will
accept donations via PayPal to help him with his work.

Noting that for personal use, this is completely fine, but please do not share
converted books with people who have not purchased the book as that would be a
copyright infringement. Besides, authors make so little off Kindle books, it
is the right thing to do to support them, in my humble opinion.
Here is an article about what an author makes from the various formats by one
of my favorite authors, Brian McClellan, check it out:

Kindle books are DRM protected so Voice Dream Reader can't read them in
their native format. You would need to convert them to an ePub or other
format Voice Dream can read using a tool such as Codex found here:

There are probably others, but the two that come to mind are Read2Go
(note how it is written) for $20 and Voice Dream Reader for $10. Voice
Dream offers many more features, such as reading/reviewing other
document types, and the Read2Go app is strictly BookShare books. I
don't know about Voice Dream for getting BookShare content but I've
heard that it is easy. As for Read2Go, it is easy to search and
download books from BookShare. Note that in the Read2Go app, books are
read using a TTS voice. Both apps work with Braille displays.

Hi Group,

I just join Bookshare and would like to know what is a very easy to use
app
to read books on bookshare. I have a couple of request of the app.

1.Easy to use

2. would like a sleep timer.

3. Easy to get the book in the app?

Any other suggestion would be appreciated.
