Hi, I can't offer any guidance, but I can tell you that with my Plantronics Voyager Legend I often have it successfully ppaired with both my iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2.1 and my AppleWatch running the current WatchOS, and tapping my Watch will give me the time while pausing or overriding what is being read or streamed from the iPhone.
