Ah, perhaps that's why mine wouldn't work. It was saying "On".
Presumably I just turn it to "off" and then to "on" and hope it works then!

A blurb says " No longer need to be on 4g or Wi-Fi to use voice dictation: can

Correction: in the demo I say it just works automatically. However, if your
language supports offline voice dictation you may need to turn it on in
Settings,
General, Keyboard, Dictation on/off toggle. I don't' know why, but my setting was
on by default which according to some blogs will be turned off by default." HTH

Hi Richard,
I just went through all of the settings in the 6S plus, and found no reference
to any off line dictation.

I just googled offline dictation in ios, and everything I read said it was only
available in the 6s or 6s plus models and that it is not enabled by default.
You have to go into the Settings, General, Keyboard, and download the offline
dictation files and that is only available for English keyboards.
So, I for one will never have access to it since I have no need to spend a lot
of money on a 6s while my 5s is working just fine.
And, I prefer the size of the 5s, so when I need to get a new phone one day,
the iPhone SE or whatever it is called by then, will be my choice. Who knows,
maybe that feature is available in the SE since it has most of the 6s
components?

Hi all,
I’m wondering if offline dictation is available on the iPad Air 2? I heard a
podcast that said it was only on the iphone. Is this right? Also can it be used
anywhere else besides notes, like ms word?
Thanks.
