The books never expire. But they can be taken away if for whatever reason rights change. You are not buying the book. You're buying a sensually a license to use the book. And if the company decides otherwise, that license goes away. Mary PS the other good thing about Kindle versus nook, aside from the fact that the prices are usually less, is that they also have lots and lots of really cheap books and well advertised sales on books that are normally cheap but are cheaper during the sale. I really like nook, because they were the first one other than iBooks to become accessible. But they can't compete with Kindle on price and out reach.
