The problem for me with using iCloud Drive, it will take a long time to
tramsferr large zip files. I download old time radio shows in zip files and
they are around 600mb in size. This is where I've been using itunes file
sharing to transfer these files to voice dream reader.

You can do either, though file sharing does not work exactly as before.
As soon as you add a file to the Voice Dream folder in iTunes, it transfers
automatically according to Winston, this is different than before.
You can also use iCloud Drive and add things to the loader folder under
Reader.
