There are a couple of settings. First, go into Settings -> Mail, Calendars, Contacts and double tap your Google account and make sure Calendar is on.

You should also be able to set your default calendar by going into Settings -> Mail, Calendars, Contacts and going down to the Calendar section. I don't see this setting on my phone anymore though, but maybe that's because I just have the one calendar. I also used to be able to select a calendar when I added an event, but again, I don't see that in the add calendar event dialog any more.

Finally, in the Calendar app itself, you can double tap the Calendars button at the bottom of the screen and make sure your Google calendar is selected.

Joseph,

If you meant to say “select the google calendar within your IOS calendar
app”, then I’d like to know how to do that? I just had a look at the
IOS calendar app settings, and I did not see any way to select a google
calendar?

Thanks,

Chip

Not entirely true, if you select the Google calendar within your eyelash
calendar app and as long as your Gmail address is connected to your
phone, you can do that. My girlfriend or let's just say my ex-girlfriend
and I did this for a little while and her events for syncing to my phone
in my events for syncing to her phone. And she had an android and I have
my iPhone.

An invite from someones google calendar will not be added to your

So only an invite from another ios calendar will be added to your

    Hope this helps,

    Hello,

Yesterday, someone sent me an invitation to an event using what I
guess was a google invite. I accepted the invitation because it gave
me a Yes or No option. When I looked at my iPhone calendar today, the
event was not there. What did I need to do in order for it to appear
on my calendar? Does it make a difference if it's a google calendar
    invitation?
    Thanks much.
