You tune your TV to the correct HDMI input channel. Apple TV connects to the
internet via wifi or ethernet, not your television set.

ah so do i have to put my tv on any specific setting? What connects to the
internet, apple tv, or my tv itself?

Hi

You hook up the Apple TV to an HDMI-compatible television set. You will hear
VoiceOver out of your television set. You use the remote provided with the
Apple TV, not the remote for your television set although you can instruct the
Apple TV to “learn” your television set remote I believe.

Airplay allows one to stream audio and/or video content wirelessly from one
device to another, in some cases multiple devices. The cheapest product to
support Airplay out of the box is the Apple TV.

what exactly is airplay, never used it.

Yes, my Hulu does that as well, as it allows for more width for people
to see the video, even though a phone is probably not the ideal screen
to watch on for a sighted person either. The audio, when using Airplay,
can end up better than built-in TV speakers though, but the landscape
orientation does throw me off.

I haven't used Hulu in a while, but the Netflix app goes into
landscape mode when you start watching a show, so I'd think this would
be normal behavior for Hulu as well.

Hey guys,
I decided to download hulu and try it for a month, wow, this is awesome.
1 of the things i noticed, when you start playing an episode, it goes
in to landscape mode and the phone orientation changes. Is this normal?
1 of the networks i love to watch on tv is investigation discovery. In
the networks section of the app, is there any way i can favorite it, and
get notified of new episodes?
In your general experience, how often does content on these various
networks get updated?

Thanks,
jed
