Hi Steve,

Did you copy your entire iTunes folder to some backup media such as a USB stick
or external hard drive before you reinstalled Windows and iTunes? If so, after
you installed iTunes again, did you delete the iTunes folder which would have
been created during the installation and copy back the backup folder? This is
the best way to make sure everything is as it was since the iTunes folder
contains not only your iTunes media folder which has all your music, tones
etc., but also it contains the database file and all your settings etc.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Itunes weird behavior

Hi,

I’m getting a message I’ve never seen with itunes. When I tell it to sync
music or apps, it is telling me that the phone is synked with another library
and it gives the name of that library which is the name of my computer before I
had to erase and rebuild it with a new installation of Windows and itunes. The
prompt wants me to erase my iphone and restore it using the library from the
old hard drive since it says it can only be synked to one library at a time.
No idea how a second library got created or where it came from. I don’t want
to do this as those files no lonhger exist on the computer if the sync uses the
computer I will loose everything on my phone. If the library it is talking
about is actually on my phone then I guess it would be ok???
Apple support was no help.

I’m not panicing here as everything is safely still on my iphone but I need to
figure out how to get it in to itunes so I can put it on my new iphone.

Any thoughts?
Thanks -Steve
