Well, I don't know of any way to read the charge remaining on the
battery but I have several of the Anchor battery backup units and find
they are very good quality and meet your other requirements. I have a
small Anchor (a little larger than a cigarette lighter) that I carry
in my handbag for emergencies and that one does turn on and off with a
button. The larger Anchor I own has two charging ports and starts and
stops automatically. As I said, I like both very much and wouldn't
hesitate to recommend them. I'll be interested to know if there are
any options that allow a blind user to know the charge remaining on
the battery.
