Hi, sorry, just catching up with emails. I tried to get something out of Amazon via Twitter, as they are sometimes more willing to reply because of the public nature of the communication. They just didn’t understand the problem. It’s the Kindle thing all over again.
Oddly enough, I have a sighted friend who lives in India for much of the year and she negotiated a substantial discount on her Prime membership because she wasn’t able to take advantage of various of the Prime features. If they can’t be bothered to provide us with described video content, maybe they should give us a discount too ? I suppose if they ever did respond to this, they would come up with some mendacious reason why it isn’t technically possible. Doesn’t seem to stop Netflix and hooray for them. Also, for listers in the US, any chance the FCC could get stuck into this as an issue? That was the only thing that got Amazon moving on Kindle.
