Apple hasn't addressed this, but I wouldn't be surprised if a third-party 
manufacturer wouldn't come out with some sort of splitter which allows you to 
plug in a Lightning headset and charge also. As I said earlier, going forward 
this may become a mute point if Apple introduces wireless charging possibly as 
early as next year with the 10th anniversary iPhone.
