Hello Nancy, This is a matter of personal opinion, of course, but I strongly suggest that you not place any tactile markings on the display.
Just give yourself time to acclimate to the new interface. Thinking back, I believe it took me over two weeks in order to begin to start feeling comfortable with the iPhone interface. Be patient with yourself and do not measure your progress against that of anyone. Just don't give up and don't give in and, in time, it will get easier.
