The scrub gesture works to close folders without ending the moving session or
you can also flick down to the “Drop name of app out of name of folder”. For
example, if you have a folder called “Social” and in it you have Facebook,
Messenger, Skype and Whats App and you now want to move Skype out of that
folder because you want it on the home screen, you go into the folder, put
focus on Skype and then flick down once to “Arrange Apps”. Now double tap to
get into editing/moving mode, then double tap again since focus is now on
“Move”. Voiceover will say “Choose a destination for Skype”. Now flick down
once and you’ll hear “Drop Skype out of Social Folder”. Double tap and the
folder will close and you are back on whichever home page the folder is on, you
can now go to any position on that home page or use the 3-finger swipe left or
right to go to a different home page etc. Once you are where you want to be
select whichever option you want from the rotor as in Insert before, insert
after or create folder with.

Hi,
Next time try using the scrub gesture to close the folder instead of the home
button.

I love this new way of moving apps but I did discover one little thing. I
wanted to move an app from inside a folder to another folder. I chose the app
and then when I tried to close that folder to go to the second one the press of
the home button ended the edit procedure. So I just moved the app out of the
first folder the same way as before and then chose it to move the new way.
I had apps stuck all over the place before because it was just too frustrating
to try and try to get them moved with IOS 9 so I think 10 is worth it just for
this feature!

Here is my summary of how it works.

Touch the app you want to move.

Flick up once and you should hear, Arrange apps.

double tap.

Then, do a two finger double tap and it should say something like choose a

destination for the app.

Now, use your normal method to get to where you want the app.

If a different page, just do the three finger swipe to get there.

Touch where you want the app. Even if you want it in a folder, just touch the

folder, don't open it.

Flick up with 1 finger and you will hear options like, place after x app, or

before x app, or put in x folder, whatever you want to do, just double tap with

one finger and wala, it is done.

Howdy,
SO, a week into the new iPhone and new IOS 10 and I'm running into an
interesting issue. I downloaded some new apps that need to go into folders I'd
created a while back on my older iPhone and IOS. When I double-tap on the app
and hold, a message comes up saying something about dismissing shortcut menu.
I'm guessing there's a new way of moving apps. Where can I find directions or
a tutorial on how to do this?
Also, what about deleting apps? I can't seem to do that either.
Thanks.
