It has several buttons, five to be exact, but it also has a small section where
you can perform gestures like swiping to do certain things. Just remember when
you first picked up an iDevice for the first time, you really didn’t know what
to do with it, with an Apple TV, you would have a bit more of an understanding
now because you have used different iDevices and you know some gestures to use
to get things accomplished. The new Apple TV also has Siri which makes doing
things a lot easier. Don’t let it intimidate you, it is easy to use and a
treasure to have in my opinion. Apple did a great job on the Apple TV, a much
better job than Amazon or even Roku as far as accessibility.

Thank you mama peach for your thoughts on the situation. I really appreciate
it. I had a feeling that the most accessible device would be Apple TV. But I
wanted to make sure. I can use my iPhone, and my iPad mini pretty well. I still
learn new things every day, or at least every week. But I love them both very
much! So are you saying that with the new Apple TV, the remote doesn't have
buttons like my third generation TV does?
You have to swipe the remote to get things to happen?
I don't think I am very fond of that! It's just me this new or AppleTV seems so
complicated. I guess I will stick with what I have for now, for as long as I
can. Maybe I will try to build up the money, and eventually upgrade. But for
now, I will use what I have for as long if I can. Thank U again for your
thoughts, and suggestions. Again, I really appreciate it.

If you want something with speech, the better choice is Apple TV. I know it
is a lot of money, but none of the other devices that stream are as
accessible as the Apple TV. If you are able to use gestures on any other
iDevices, you should be able to use the Apple TV with no problems. Yes, the
area for swiping is a smaller area but it isn't difficult to use at all.

Subject: Just doing some comparing of Apple TV and Amazon Firestick

Hello everyone,

I am trying to decide where to go next, when it comes to my Apple TV.

I love my Apple Tv, and enjoy it very much! I use it all the time.

However, while I want to upgrade, I do have some concerns about the
learning curve. But even more, I have concerns about the cost.

I don't really have the money to purchase a new model, and I most likely
won't for some time now. I know this might not seem like a lot of money
for some of you, and I think this is wonderful!

But unfortunately for me, it is.

So I was looking at the Amazon tv Firestick.

Does anyone on this list know much about this thing?

If not, could someone kindly direct me to a list, where there are blind
people who do know about this?

Also, is this device accessible at all?

If so, by how much? Will only part of it talk?

Would I be able to download apps?

Also, from what I read, it mentioned that you can get a subscription to
Sling tv. From what I understand, Sling tv isn't accessible at all.

So if I got a subscription on the Firestick, wouldn't it likely not be
accessible?

Any help with this, or thoughts on the matter, would be very much
appreciated.

Thank you for reading, and letting me make comparisons.

Terri
