Hi Todd,

This app does not recognize and read text that appears in an existing video
which is how I understand your question.
It does instant OCR and reads what it sees with the camera in video mode and
also has a still camera mode where it basically does the same as KNFB Reader
except I would be surprised if it did it as well.
Basically it does what Talking Goggles does which costs $0.99. There was also
an update for Talking Goggles today which mentioned "- Resolved iOS 10 issues"
and "Performance improvements" in the What's New section.

Here is what it says on the app store about A Media Live Reader and the link to
the app in the app store since there is a lot more information about it there:

Features:
* Scans a live image captured by a camera and reads the texts in it in
real-time.
* Designed for visually impaired users.
* Supported language: English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional),
Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian,
Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese,
Romanian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
* Employs an excellent OCR technology powered by ABBYY.

How to Use:
1. Open the App with VoiceOver turned on.
2. Tap the "Active" button to focus. The App starts beeping.
3. Direct the camera to letters. The App detects and read them in real-time.
4. Hold the device flat (with the camera facing down) to take a still picture.
This is useful when you're reading paper sheets on a desk.
5. The previously read texts can be reached by left swiping.
6. Copy the texts to the Clipboard in the Settings screen.

Gordon,

Do you mean the Media Live Reader may be able to read text from a live video
the same way sighted folks see the text there in the video?

Todd

It's supposed to use the camera to take live video and read text in real time.
