I think the Apple TV itself retails for close to the same as the 3 months
anyways, but I assume you need to decide on this before you decide to take the
trial? How does one deal with the captcha on the iPhone?

You can sign up using Safari on your iPhone. Just be aware that a lot of the
things that are "clickable" are not noted as controls presumably because
they're not marked as such in the normal HTML way. So you have to be a little
bit creative and guessing what you're supposed to double tap on. Shame on AT&T
for their crappy excess ability, but you can do it. If you sign up, then they
offer you the chance to get the Apple TV if you want to sign up for three
months. All this is doable, although not in a straightforward fully accessible
way.
Sent you prepay for those three months, and you cannot get a refund, that is
you cannot cancel and get your money back, if you try it and don't like it. I
assume that is because you will have been sent the AppleTV.
