I'll take the easy part of your question first. The manual has information on all the braille displays that work with the iPhone. Also, if you go to www.apple.com/accessibility<http://www.apple.com/accessibility> you can also find that information. Why questions can be difficult as each person will likely have a slightly different reason. The most obvious one is if you are deaf-blind. Or, if you are a person who absorbs information better by physically reading in braille rather than listening. Or, if you are a braille reader and are in situations where you cannot or don't want to have VoiceOver speaking out loud and do not want to wear earphones. And so on. I hope that helps. Richard
