Anyway, the default keyboard on my S 6 has a number row and it truly is
convenient. I've never checked but I think the default keyboard on the S 6 is
the Samsung keyboard. So, perhaps we should look for a Samsung third-party
keyboard, for iOS, instead of the Google keyboard.
For many, many years, now, I and others have been lobbying for a number row to
be added to the native iOS keyboard.

That is kind of depressing. There's supposedly an update that puts the number
row in on this keyboard. I have an android phone as well as my iPhone, and I
have been waiting to get the update to the Google keyboard, but so far it's not
showing up for me. I had the impression from what I read, that the number row
was already present in the current version of Gboard on iOS. So what you are
reporting is disappointing.

On the iPhone 5s, there is no number line, you have to toggle numbers the same
way. But, there is a period just to the right of the space bar.
Also, if you have touch typing on, touching and releasing the return key enters
it, while on the native iOS keyboard you have to double tap.
Plus it does have the activate google search right there.

That is apparently the name of the Google keyboard for iOS. I wonder if anyone
has tried it and whether it works with voiceover. For me, the most interesting
thing about it is that it seemingly includes a number row, without having to
switch like you do with the standard Apple keyboard. That would be nice.
