I learned about the site at the following link from a Gizmo's Freeware email and it works well to extract the audio in mp3 format from a youtube video located at the pasted URL:
https://ytmp3.com/ The site has a text box where you paste the URL of the youtube video with a button immediately to the right of this text box which you execute to do the conversion. A download link will pop up after conversion is complete for copying the mp3 result to your computer. I tested it on a 3 plus minute bit from the Stephen Colbert Late Show and it worked wonderfully.
