Nancy, I" think he was confused about what you were saying. I have a 7 and it 
does the same thing. I know when the phone is turned off that when turned back 
on it requires a pass code. However, I have re-done my fingerprints about 5 
times. They only work for maybe 3 times to get an app or open the lock screen. 
Then phone starts squawking about putting in my code or if an app I need to put 
in my password. This is something new. When 10.2 came out it was fine. now it 
is not. I became so tired of it asking for my code that I turned off my 
fingerprint. However, I wish they'd fix it!
