Pam, I think it does remove the ads, not sure though. however, I find I can use it just fine, the Addies only the bottom half of the screen and I only use the top half! so far, I find it quite good! if I put the tin on its side, and gently roll it, while moving the phone above it, it was fine is the barcode!
