A few years ago my wife’s iPod fifth generation had a non functioning home button, it was out of warranty and Apple said they can’t fix it and I could get a replacement for a discount. I took it to a repair place and they replaced the home button for $50 Canadian, it took 2 hours and it’s now been longer since the repair then it was from when the iPod was new and it broke and it still works fine.
