Hi Donald and Anna, On an iPhone as old as the 3GS flicking up with 3 fingers won’t work. The old way was to double tap and hold on an app once you are in the app switcher and then you double tap each app to close it, it’s basically like deleting an app on the home screen. I can’t remember in what version of iOS Apple introduced the flicking up method, but it was probably iOS 6 or something like that, certainly beyond what the 3GS can run.
