hi,
I don't turn them on, either, simply, and you've said it as well, it's nice to know what you're pudating. and on the iPad, thanks to you guys, I didn't update my dropbox. but am pretty sure the original poster was looking for this setting.

Though I don't use automatic updates either, note that if you turn it
on in iTunes and App Store settings, it will effect all apps--free or
paid. Since accessibility can be affected by app udpates, as Richard
described with DropBox, and since I like to know what is updated and
decide from there, I have not enabled this setting.

Subject: Re: automatic app updates?

I did not know that free apps didn't update automatically, but
then again, I do not use automatic updates.
Case in point, Dropbox seriously broke their app with the last
update.
Fortunately, I had not synced my phone with my computer and was
able to delete the broken Dropbox and get an earlier version off
my computer.
Perhaps someone who uses automatic updates can address your issue
more directly.

Hello, all:
I have the iPhone 7, and have discovered my free apps don't
automatically update. Is there a way to update automatically
without having to manually update for each app? Thanks in
advance.
