Hi Jed,
Yes, you are going to receive a notification from Uber saying that your ride is
arriving. Also on the Uber app you will be able to see how far is the driver
from you. Also you will see on the app the driver's name, if you double tab you
will see more information about the driver, and a contact button. Double tab
here and you will see the choice that says call button. I always tell them that
I am visual impaired, if I need to. But some times depending of the area you
don't need to say anything. Normally I say so when are so much people around,
and I need to tell them that I am using a white cane, and how I am dressing
that day. Just to help the driver to identify you.

Subject: some uber questions

Hey guys,

I'm taking the plunge today and scheduling my 1st uber ride. here's a
question. Does the app let you know when someone is on the way? Is it easy to
communicate with your driver? Not that it's a huge deal, but do you guys let
your driver know you are visually impaired?

Cheers,
Jed
