Greetings. My wife and I like watching Survivor through the CBS app on our Apple TV 4th Generation. We have been working our way through the first season since we are subscribed to the CBS All Access service. Today when starting an episode, the screen was totally black. My wife is sighted and she reported that there were apps and icons on screen before starting the episode in question (season 1 episode 12 for those interested), but once the episode started we got an error message talking about trouble with the CBS app and asking if we wanted to submit an error report, and the screen was totally black after that point. Twice when I hit the submit error report button, the app crashed. I restarted the Apple TV and at one point we turned the regular TV off and back on. Any ideas? WE have been able to watch other episodes fine up until today, and we were even able to watch episode 11 with no problems. The trouble seemed to start with episode 12. We were using the TV app to launch each episode since the episodes are easier to locate in that app; see the next paragraph.
I've noticed that the icons in the CBS app have lost their labels, so when going through they will say 30 episodes, 24 episodes, 100 episodes, to indicate each show. I have the apps on the Apple TV set to update automatically. I currently use the Apple TV to watch CBS shows, YouTube and listen to playlists through Apple Music.
