Hi Mike,

What do you mean by “I went through the touch and Id settings”. What this
message means is that the fingerprint to unlock your device doesn’t work, you
have to go to Settings > Passcode and Touch Id to make sure your fingerprint is
properly registered. Of course you can only have Touch Id if you also have a
passcode, also, the passcode will be required once you double tap on “Passcode
and Touch Id”, you need to enter your passcode to get into this area. Once you
are there I suggest you delete any fingerprints which might be there and then
set up one or two fingers from scratch. The process is very self-explanatory
and you will have guidance as to what to do.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Touch ID Message

Howdy All,

Running an SE iPhone with iOS 10.31. When I turn my phone on I get the
following message:

Unable to activate touch ID on this iPhhone
Okay.

How can I stop this message from displaying? I went through the Touch & ID
settings, but most of the buttons are dimmed, so I'm assuming the dimmed
buttons aren't accessible. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.
Take care.
Mike
