I did go into the Speech/voice option but the only voices showing are Fred and Samantha but perhaps the other two have not completed the download as they are both large files. I did not think of this earlier so I will just try to be patient and my friend also. LOL! Marie

You will need to find American English and double tap that, and you should see all the voices there. There have been some bugs in the past with voices not downloading, so make sure the phone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
