That may very well be so, but that still doesn't mean I have to do everything I can to give Google as much information as possible. In any case, true privacy does exist, it's just that most of us don't choose to give up the conveniences of modern life and technology to achieve it. I live in northern BC and know quite a few people who don't have a cell phone, they have never signed up for an email address let along a Facebook account and probably have never been online. They live in the country or the bush and some don't even have a phone or electricity. Would I want to live like this, well, no, but I can still be careful what I post on Facebook, how much access I give to various apps and what devices I allow into my home. If I don't have an internet connected camera in my house there is no chance anybody can hack it.
