Joe,

Are you adding the 6-digit code on to the end of your password? This is rarely
necessary, as Mark pointed out, iTunes should prompt you for this code after
you enter your Apple Id and regular password. As soon as you enter the first
digit of the code focus automaticlaly jumps to the second digit etc. I think
after entering the last one you may have to tab to OK or soething like that.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hello Joe,

I'm not certain of what you are experiencing but I can tell you that two-factor
authentication does work in Windows 7 and Windows 10, in iTunes.

I have not attempted to read the 6-digit entry field with Jaws. I tend to use
Zoomtext on my Windows Desktop computers so cannot speak to the screen reader
accessability of the UI but I can say for certain that the entry field does
appear after one enters his/her Apple ID and Password.

Just so you know, one can disable 2-factor authentication via a web browser at:
http://appleid.apple.com.

Just so you understand, with 2-factor enabled, one must begin the login
sequence as usual, by entering an Apple ID and password. Then, if this is done
correctly, en entry UI appears with 6 blank spots in which one is to enter the
6-digit security code that was sent to an authorized device. If a device is
not available, then one can choose to have the code sent to a trusted phone via
SMS.

Now when the code is sent to an authorized device, it will appear as a small
dialog box that you must explore-by-touch to understand.

The process can seem a bit overwhelming the first time but one quickly becomes
accustomed to the procedure.

Mark

Subject: 2 factor authentication on pc

Hi all,
Here's the problem.
I need to authorize a windows based computer for my itunes account.

So I get to the point where apple send a code to my phone.
The instructions say to enter your password followed by the 6 digit code.

No matter how many times I do this, I can not access my account to download
purchasses that are on my phone, but I want them in my pc music library.

Whatever Itunes or account event i initiate, whether it's authroizing the
machine, making a purchase, viewing my account, the code is not working.

Doesn't matter which screen reader is in use at the time. I'm hoping to have a
friend take a look on the screen to see if some important pop up area is not
being viewed by the screen reader. But if someone knows a work around this,
that would be good.

I'd even like to turn off 2 factor authentication, but I bet you can't do that.

Or modify it, say so that when you tell the authorized device to allow access
from the unauthorized device, that would be sifficient.

Or even the answer to a security question, but where to enter the data, that
appears to be the issue.

Many thanks.

Joe
