Just wanted to share that I found an external earphone for just one ear from C. Crane which is great for being able to listen to a voice (such as GPS instructions) while still allowing ambient sounds to easily be heard. It's very comfortable, it has an extra strong cable and firm mounting on your ear. It's $10 from C. Also, as best as I can judge, it should work with a hearing aid . even if the aid sticks out of the ear, the external speaker of this easily can be pushed outward and still fit comfortably and securely. I read about this in the new book from Judy Dixon (from NBP) called "Go Where You Want to Go" (although she says you should be able to get it from Pirkins, I wasn't able to).
