Hi Keith, Apparently iOS 11 makes it possible to at least set up the Airpods in Settings so a tap on one speaker acts as Play/Pause and if you tap the other side you can bring up SIRI. This is some improvement, and if they could figure out how to do volume changes without having to use SIRI then the Airpods become much more interesting. It would appear that some of this may not require a new hardware version of the Airpods and that much can be done via software. Of course I don’t doubt that there will be Airpods second generation whether they come out this fall or during 2018 is anybody’s guess.

Hi, Has anyone heard rumors about a new version of Air Pods being released in 2017 I have been persuaded by Sieghard that some improvements would be useful, for controlling more functions without the need for Siri, but also for a safety mechanism to reduce the risk of loss from falling out of place. But, I do think I’d like the sound quality and wireless convenience. Thanks in advance, Keith -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
