Gps is also being upgraded, so either system is claiming it will allow us to eventually have 1 meter accuracy (but amny years away).

Galileo gives us access to many more decimal points, thus, we can expect much much greater accuracy from it. what's more, Galileo is up and running and has been since January. it has, already, greatly improved search and rescue response times.
