Hi Nancy, When you start an app, it is temporarily added to the dock. Then, go to the doc and find the app. Flick up or down to a choice that lets you keep it on the dock. Double-tap. The action menu on each item on the dock also has buttons that let you move items around, so you can have them in the order you want.
